Process management company Abtran is expanding its operations in Dublin's IFSC and taking on an extra 100 people.

The company currently employs more than 2,000 people in Ireland with 50 employees already based at its IFSC offices and working on-site. The company is now planning its next phases of growth.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton, who officially opened Abtran's offices in the IFSC together with junior finance minister Simon Harris and Enterprise Ireland chief Julie Sinnamon, said financial services and technology are key sectors targeted in the Action Plan for Jobs.

"Abtran is a great example of the type of Irish company we are trying to support in this area - a highly innovative, fast-growing company which is taking advantage of the base of multinational companies we have here in Ireland in order to grow its sales," Mr Bruton said.

"This is a great boost and a huge achievement by Michael and his team."

Separately, Pepper Ireland announced yesterday that it is creating 50 new positions in Dublin and Shannon with recruitment to get under way immediately.

It is the second jobs announcement by Pepper Ireland in the last 18 months and will bring total employment to approximately 350 by the start of 2016.

Paul Doddrell, Pepper chief executive, said the firm had pursued very rapid growth since entering the Irish market.

"On the back of a number of significant new business wins we've been steadily increasing employees in both Shannon and Dublin," he said.
