Man slits throat

A man aged about 30-years-old slit his throat with a blade on Nanjappa Road near Gandhipuram on Sunday morning. Race Course Police said that the mentally challenged man was in front of a closed shop where he cut his throat and his left wrist with a blade. The public alerted the police, who made arrangements to take him to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. The man also created a scene at the hospital and resisted when doctors tried to treat him. It is learnt that he suffered heavy blood loss and was in the intensive care unit.

Commits suicide

S. Mannan (45) of Highways Colony on Trichy Road reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the house on Saturday. The police said that the man had two wives and inquires have led to suspicion he could have taken the extreme step due to difference of opinion between them.
