People asked to stay away from Chenab river

KISHTWAR, July 19: The Management of Dulhasti Power Station, NHPC Limited has cautioned public of Doda and Kishtwar in general and people of villages Dul, Benzwar, Cherhar, Bhandarkot, Hasti, Kandni, Thathari, Prem Nagar & Pul Doda in particular not to move near River Chenab from July 22, 2015 from 00:30 hrs. to 18:30 hrs. as the gates of Dulhasti Power Station Dam will be opened for periodical reservoir flushing.
During this period the water level may rise temporarily. Therefore, the public residing near River Chenab downstream areas has been cautioned to refrain from moving themselves / their cattle/ trucks & tippers near the banks of River Chenab to avoid any mishap and to co-operate  for the safety of their lives.
Any body violating the request will be doing so at his own risk and responsibility and NHPC/Management of Dulhasti Power Station will not be responsible for consequences, a spokesman of  the Power Station said.
