Kannada Sahitya Parishat celebrated poet K.S. Narasimhaswamy’s birth centenary in Bidar on Sunday.

Singer Shambhuling Waldoddi said that KSN’s poetry had proved to be timeless because of its lyrical quality and simplicity and for choosing romance as the subject matter of poetry. He inspired generations of romantic poets in Kannada, he said.

Those who have read only one book of poetry have read KSN’s work. That explains his popularity, Basavaraj Mulage, critic, said. He brought out 17 poetry collections, translations of great works and wrote books on children’s literature, he said.

N.B. Renuka, resource person, Sidramappa Masimade, president, KSP district unit and others were present.
