Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara has been appointed the new secretary to the Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel has chosen the 46-year-old for this assignment to aid and assist him in running the House and its Secretariat.

Before moving to the Delhi Assembly, Mr. Suryadevara served the Lok Sabha for five years and the Rajya Sabha for over six years. Mr. Suryadevara served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Somnath Chatterjee when he was Lok Sabha Speaker.

He also played a key role in the process of setting-up of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha television channels in their formative years.

Mr. Suryadevara was also associated with the public service broadcaster for nearly 11 years prior to his joining the Parliament.
