14 accused in Maruti clash withdraw bail applications
GURGAON: Fourteen workers accused of being involved in violence at the Maruti plant in Manesar on July 18, 2012, have withdrawn their bail applications. The applications were filed before the court of additional district judge SK Khanduja nearly two months ago.
Monu Kuhar, lawyer for the workers, said the applications were withdrawn because it would be ideal to wait for the verdict of the Punjab and Haryana high court on bail of three other accused — who face the same charges as these 14 — that will come on July 28.

"There are three other bail applications pending before the high court and listed for later this month. Those three accused — Yadvinder Singh, Sumit Nen and Amit Nen — face the same allegations and have the same nature of evidence against them. If the high court decides the case in their favour, then we will take up the case of these 14 as well in the district courts," Kuhar said.
Anurag Hooda, the public prosecutor in the case, said, "The role of these 14 accused is very specific in the attack. Recently, bails of five accused who face the same charges were rejected by the same court while three of them have moved the high court against the dismissal of their bail applications. If the higher court grants bail to these three, then the other 14 might stand a chance too."
