A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man suspected in the motorcycle bomb blast that killed three people in Padang Besar in Songkhla last week.

The Na Thawi provincial court on Saturday approved a police request for the warrant against Sulaiman Samor, 33, of Khok Pho district in Pattani, police said.

Mr Sulaiman faces five charges: colluding in terrorism, attempted murder, causing damage to property, colluding in a bomb blast that caused deaths and injuries, and illegal possession of explosives.

The warrant was issued after witnesses confirmed that Mr Sulaiman was the one who rode the motorcycle that was then parked in front of Krok Thong karaoke in Padang Besar subdistrict of Sadao district on July 10.

The subsequent explosion killed three people and injured three others.

Police said the suspect was also accused of involvement in a motorcycle bombing in Hat Yai on May 6 last year.
