Mining scam: CBI team in Bellary
The CBI has interrogated BJP legislator Anand Singh in connection with the scam and he is likely to be summoned again next week.
The CBI team, which has taken Congress MLA Anil Lad into custody for his alleged involvement in multi-crore mining scam, is now touring the iron rich Bellary district as part of the probe.
Anil Lad is housed in a government guest house in Bellary where he is being grilled by the CBI team. The CBI officers also visited the mines and stock yards owned by the mining baron in Bellary district.
It is alleged that Anil Lad supplied illegally-mined iron ores to various trading firms for export. He is likely to apply for bail. He has been remanded in judicial custody till July 20.
