Mayor Akula Sujatha and corporators donned the role of sanitation workers and got down to the serious business of removing garbage following the continuous strike of workers in the town, on Friday.
Equipped by spades, crowbars and baskets, they went to the Division No. 16 and 18 and started removing the garbage piled up in the last few days due to the absence of sanitation workers in the duties. The residents also followed the suit.
Mayor’s spouse Akula Srisailam helped loading the litter in tractors.
