Former BCCI chief Sashank Manohar to meet Jagmohan Dalmiya to discuss IPL conundrum

KOLKATA: Former BCCI chief Sashank Manohar today dropped in at the city to meet current president Jagmohan Dalmiya and discuss the road ahead for the board after suspension of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals by the Supreme Court-appointed Justice Lodha Committee.
"I have come here to discuss about IPL with the president. The verdict should be honoured," Manohar told reporters on his arrival at Kolkata airport amidst heavy downpour.

Manohar, himself an eminent lawyer, is one of the legal heads in this matter.

Manohar's visit assumes significance as he is likely to apprise the septuagenarian board chief about the possible options for BCCI.

Two options that are being deliberated include auction of players with new team bidding and secondly BCCI owning the two teams.

Manohar had been a supporter of BCCI adopting the teams and he had expressed his thoughts at an earlier working committee meeting.

An IPL governing council meeting in Mumbai on Sunday will provide a clearer picture.
