Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah today reviewed the situation arisen due to the wind storm and cloud bursts in various parts of District Baramulla during the intervening night of 16/17-July 2015 at a meeting of officers held here today.The meeting was informed that as per the preliminary reports, about 200 structures have been damaged partially or severally in the district, particularly in Pattan area. The villages affected included Arampora, Gundkhwaja Qasim, Hebaktengoo, Bunichakul, Archanderhama, Kanterbugh, Budibugh, Chandil, Kreeri and Hagerpora, Dalri, Dogripora. It was also given out that power supply has also got disrupted in these areas but the communication link is through in the District.
The Deputy Commissioner constituted special teams to monitor the restoration of essential supplies and services in the affected areas, besides assessing the damage to the infrastructure. He maintained that the District Administration has identified a building in Sangri Colony Baramulla for establishment of Emergency Operation Centre for monitoring rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures in the event of natural calamities. He directed the CA&PD Department to keep buffer stock of ration available in the district.The meeting was attended by Superintendent Engineers PDD, Irrigation and Flood Control, SSP Sopore, Joint Director Planning, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Medical Officer and Executive Engineers of different Departments.
