Mammootty's latest movie "Acha Dhin" has received above-average reviews from critics. Despite loop-holes in the script, the film is rated as a worthy one to watch.

The direction by G Marthandan is reviewed as an impressive one. Mammootty, as usual, has pulled of his character in style and debutant Mansi Sharma has made sure that her character is portrayed well. In fact, the performance of the actors is said to be the highlight of the film.

Coming to the technical aspects, the movie is shot diligently by Pradeep Nair and Bijipal's music has complemented the film in the right tone.

Below are Reviews of 'Acha Dhin' by various critics:

Mollywood Times

"Acha Dhin" is an honest attempt to tell the woes and blessings poured on North Indian migrant labourers by Kerala society. Many a times the people here are hostile to them and always keep them at a distance. Acha Dhin revolves around these minority people who we come face to face in every day. But the movie is trapped in the weak spots in script and poor characterization at some points of the running time.

Director G Marthandan skilfully balances the megastar aura of Mammootty with the "aam aadmi" image of Durgaprasad. There are some flash moments to put the screens on fire, in which "aam aadmi" Durgaprasad reveals the mass hero hidden inside him. The makers are keen to use all the aspects of megastar to give a thrill and chill. But poorly written script spoils the thrill in the halfway and the movie becomes slow by the end.

Muyals

Expectations were high as G Marthandan joined with Mammootty yet again after the movie Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus. "Acha Dhin", the recent released Mammootty starrer thriller movie; was able to reach the expectations, consisting a good story line and some wonderful performances.

Coming to cast, Mammootty, as usual delivered a splendid performance as Durgaprasad, bringing the character to life. The North Indian character with a good taste in Malayalam was safe in the veteran's hands.

Mansi Sharma, on the other hand, remained the perfect pair to Mammootty; making a good entrance into industry. The actress proved worthy to be casted as the part of the movie.

Actors like Renji Panicker, Kishore, Maniyanpilla Raju, Kunchan, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Sudheer Karamana, Saju Navodaya, etc have done their part well.

Cinecafe Now

As usual Mammootty totally changed his attitude as a North Indian. His excitement about the city is so interesting. Sometimes he expresses his character as small boy. It's so cute. Director G Marthandan present a different screenplay when compare with Mammootty's previous movies. Mansi Sharma looks beautiful and has some reasonable space to perform. After interval gives some little bit bore. Mammootty's fans may be expects some more action sequences from this film. It's worth to watch the movie in theatre.

Onlookers Media

Direction by G Marthandan is good in but in some parts it seem like lost his control over the proceedings. Same is the case with Vijeesh's screenplay as it failed specially in the second half. The flick follows pattern of a thriller and managed to thrill the spectators at parts. The music director of the film is Bijipal and he had done a neat job with the songs that blends quite well to the story and also to the pace with which the story of the film is going forward. Pradeep Nair's direction of photography also has to be appreciated as his frames really set the tone of a family thriller nicely.
