In a brawl among college students, a third-year student, Ajith kumar, was assaulted with stones by fellow students on Wednesday in Bethaniya Nagar under Subramaniapuram police station limits.
Police said that the injured had quarrelled with one Palani for having fought with his friend recently.
When Ajith was going to college on Thursday, a gang of 11 students of the college had attacked him. One of them hit his head with a stone. The boy was admitted to Government Rajaji hospital and performed a surgery on his head. The police have arrested eight students for attempt to murder.
