The Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) will release some publications, including those published by the Centre of Excellence for Study in Kannada language, and Kannada learner’s CD series, here on Friday.
The launches will coincide with the symposium on Kannada classical language and other classical languages on the CIIL campus at 10.30 a.m.
Udayadityalankaram, a compendium of poetry dedicated to King Udayaditya, which has been translated into English by R.V.S. Sundaram and Gil Ben-Herut, will be released along with other works.
Kannada CDs
Importantly, the CIIL has brought out a series of CDs for Kannada learners, which will be released. They include an intensive course in Kannada (10 audio cassettes converted into two CDs in digital MP3 format); Sravya Bharati: First-language Kannada (15 audio cassettes converted into 3 CDs in digital MP3 format); Sravya Bharati: Second-language Kannada (10 audio cassettes converted into two CDs in digital MP3 format).
K.S. Nagaraj’s book on The Nihali language (with grammar, texts and vocabulary) is another release listed. The translated version of ‘Mahakavya Lakshana’ of H.V. Nagaraja Rao is also being released.
