NEW YORK -- Infielder Zach Lutz has resigned with the New York Mets and has been assigned to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Lutz, 29, was hitting only .111 (3-for-27) in eight games with Doosan in South Korea this season.

Lutz was allowed to depart Las Vegas last season to join Rakuten in Japan.

He originally was drafted by the Mets in the fifth round in 2007 out of Alvernia College in Pennsylvania. Lutz has a .226 average with two RBIs in 31 career major league at-bats.
