GURGAON: Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari has given his nod to the construction of an elevated flyover from IMT Manesar to National Security Guard (NSG) training centre on NH-8.
Gadkari on Thursday told a delegation of villagers from Manesar, who went to meet him following an intervention by Gurgaon MP and MoS (defence) Rao Inderjit Singh, that he has accepted their demand for the flyover and a survey would soon be carried out in the area.

The delegation of villagers, led by state cooperative minister Vikram Singh Yadav, met Gadkari in Delhi and handed him over a letter written by the Gurgaon MP. The villagers told Gadkari that the widening of highway has exposed their houses as the road is passing through the villages. Moreover, there has been frequent traffic jam on the highway, which has been bothering them.
Apart from this, the number of accidents involving villagers has gone up and therefore an elevated flyover is required for hassle-free movement of commuters from 15 villagers.
During the meeting, Gadkari told villagers he was aware about the problems being faced by them and the commuters on Delhi-Jaipur expressway (NH-8). "At present our priority is to get the expressway between Delhi and Jaipur constructed at the earliest so as to improve the connectivity between two cities," he said, adding he has accepted the demand for the elevated flyover by the villagers. Rao Inderjit, however, said that he could not go with the villagers as he was occupied in a meeting of Niti Ayog headed by the Prime Minister.
