LeBron James Tries to Give Banana Boat Pic the Slip
Shoot video of LeBron James getting dunked on, and he’ll play Houdini by making it disappear. Snap a photo of him on a banana boat and he’ll simply deny it ever happened.
Last week, James took a well-deserved vacation in the Bahamas with his good buddies Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul, when the group was caught riding a banana boat off of their $29-million luxury yacht. On their own, banana boats are rather amusing, but when they’re topped with three high-priced athletes (one of whom definitely appears to be terrified) in ill-fitting life jackets and an actress wife, well, they become the stuff of high comedy.
Since then, they have all gone their separate ways. Paul had to go to Houston to save DeAndre Jordan from the Mavericks; Wade is currently chopping it up with fashionistas in New York; and LeBron is making the rounds in support of his debut movie, Trainwreck. But have no fear, because we’ll always have that glorious moment when the three became one…atop an inflatable banana.

Of course, the world had questions about the trio’s escapades, and Jimmy Fallon was apparently the man to ask them. When James stopped by The Tonight Show on Tuesday to promote his new movie, Fallon and his partially ripped-off finger put him on the spot by breaking out the viral photo and prodding him for answers.
“Just explain what is happening here,” Fallon said. “This is not Photoshopped, right? That’s you, right? On a giant banana?”
“Someone Photoshopped that,” James responded. “That’s [Gabrielle] Union, that’s Dwyane Wade, that’s Chris Paul. But that’s not me. I was back home in Akron, Ohio when this happened. We don’t have water like that back home.”
Sure, sure. Deny it all you want, LeBron. We know what happened.
