Syria Report: 52 Isis Child Soldiers Died Fighting in 2015; 19 Under-16 Jihadists Used as Suicide Bombers

At least 52 Isis child soldiers have died fighting for the Islamic State in 2015, a UK-based monitoring agency announced on Wednesday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) stated in its report that it had documented proof of Isis using children, below the age of 16, as suicide bombers, Al Jazeera reported.

The report found that over 31 Isis child soldiers were killed in explosions, air strikes and clashes in the month of July alone.

The brutal terrorist group has also used as many as 19 children as suicide bombers. These children, dubbed as "cubs of the caliphate", 'blew themselves up using booby-trapped vehicles' in several attacks carried out by Isis, the SOHR report stated.

Earlier this month, the United Nations had severely criticised Isis for using mentally-challenged children as suicide bombers.

The report by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, released in February, accused the Islamic State of using children, under the age of 18, for suicide missions. 

Apart from training children inside Isis boot camps on how to use deadly weapons, the Sunni radical group forced the children to watch gruesome beheading and execution videos to desensitise them against such brutal practices.
