Number of marital disputes received by the Ras Al Khaimah Courts decreased by 90 per cent during the holy month of Ramadan.

Jassim Mohammed Makki, Director of Community Services Department at RAK Courts, said reasons behind less number of marital disputes in the month of Ramadan is due to stability of the psychological, spiritual and emotional condition of the couples who are usually occupied with fasting, prayers and reading the holy Qura’an.

He explained that the worshipping the God Almighty in the month of fasting takes a prominent role in couples lives which guides them to the right direction.

According to Makki, marital disputes which the administration receives in the month of Ramadan are easily resolved by the consultants after directing the two parties of the need to be more accommodative in the holy month.

He asserted that most marital disputes are the result of previous accumulated problems along with other differences erupted between the conflicting parties.

He told Alroeya newspaper that marital disputes usually increase after Ramadan and holidays, because husband refuses to take wife and children on a holiday or doesn’t buy them some gifts and so on.
