Preparations have been made for Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi's two-day visit to Rajasthan starting from Friday, state PCC Vice-President Archna Sharma said on Thursday .

"Preparations for the visit have been made accordingly," she said.

Rahul Gandhi will reach Suratgarh town of Sri Ganganagar district on Friday where Congress leaders and workers will welcome him, State Congress Committee President Sachin Pilot said.

Later, he will leave for Hanumangarh where he will hold a 'padyatra' and interact with people there, he added.

On July 17, Gandhi will address a conference of party functionaries at Birla Auditorium here, Pilot said.

Elections to about 125 civic bodies are scheduled for next month and he would address all their incumbent representatives and former functionaries, he said.

Pilot said that Rahul Gandhi will interact with locals in Khotawali villages in Pilibanga of Hanumangarh district tomorrow.

After the interaction, he will begin a 'Padyatra' from there with the party members.

Gandhi will reach Amarsinghwala village and interact with the villagers.

On July 17, the Congress Vice-President will address the party leaders, public representatives, district presidents and other functionaries of the party at Birla auditorium.

A state Congress spokesperson later said that the Congress Vice-President will on Friday start his padayatra at 10 am from Kenchian of Khotawali village on the Hanumangarh-Padampur road.

The padayatra is likely to see Rahul Gandhi tour a stretch of 5-km, the spokesperson added.
