A pal of gloom descended on the Srikakulam railway station on Wednesday, with the arrival of bodies of the nine persons, who died on Tuesday in the stampede at Rajahmundry on the first day of the Godavari Maha Pushkaram, on Tuesday.
Relatives, friends, villagers, along with the government officials reached the station to receive the bodies which were later sent to their respective villages. It was a sad moment for the passengers at the railway station, which was jam-packed with the pushkaram pilgrims. Many people could not hide their tears, seeing the bodies with the grieving family members. The B. Kameswara Rao’s family has lost four persons including K. Kalavati, Potnuru Amaravati, Lakshmi and Prasanth. The final rights were organised in Amadalavalsa on Wednesday.
