Govt. trying to suppress agitations, says CPI (M)

July 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - SANGAREDDY:

CPI (M) State committee member Chukka Ramulu alleged that the State government has been trying to suppress the agitations by force instead of addressing the problems of employees and workers.

Participating in an agitation held in front of the Collectorate on Wednesday, Mr. Ramulu said that municipal employees were agitating for the past nine days and panchayat workers on strike for past two weeks, but the government had not responded so far.

“Repeated appeals failed to yield results forcing the employees to go for strike. The government had arrested about 500 employees on Tuesday instead of calling the agitating employees for discussions. We request the government to hold discussions with the employees and address their problems,” said Mr. Ramulu.
