Yeddyurappa not part of BJP team visiting bereaved kin of farmers

July 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - BENGALURU:

The Opposition BJP on Wednesday set up six teams of its leaders to undertake a two-day tour of the State from July 25 to visit the families of farmers who have committed suicide.

Interestingly, party vice-president B.S. Yeddyurappa, who has been associated with various farmers’ struggles being taken up by the party, is not part of this tour programme.

BJP State president Pralhad Joshi claimed here on Wednesday that Mr. Yeddyurappa was not taking part in this two-day tour as he had to attend a party-related programme in Delhi.

Sources close to Mr. Yeddyurappa told The Hindu that the village tour was being taken up as part of his advice to the party.
