T Srinivas Yadav plans hall in place of college in Secunderabad

Construction of a nursing college has begun in the same plot
Hyderabad: For the second time, citizens have objected to a project in minister T. Srinivas Yadav’s Sanathnagar constituency, alleging that it will only benefit him and his followers.
Mr Yadav has planned to construct a community hall at a location where work has already begun for a 100-seat nursing college opposite Gandhinagar police station in Secunderabad.
The minister has planned the community hall despite there being no demand for it, say residents. The land is adjacent to the house of a local TRS local leader.
In 2013, the AP government had approved a 100-seat nursing college from the existing 50 seats. The undivided state had 13 nursing colleges with 600 seats. The nursing college is attached to the Gandhi Hospital as any hospital more than 100 beds (particularly government) is entitled to a nursing college.
The area is spread across 2 acres and the minister has planned a hall within the approved area for the college.
J. Devanand, a resident of Bhoiguda, said, “There were two buildings in the past that were used for hostels for girls and boys. The nursing college of 50 seats was functioning in the girls’ hostel building, located in Bhoiguda. The government then sanctioned Rs 2 crore to renovate the hostel building and the work is currently on. Normally, the Nursing Council of India gives permission and the officials will visit the building in the coming months. For such a 100-seat college, the land requirement if around two to three acre.”
“There is a basketball court for which the foundation was laid in 1995, now the minister has planned to construct a community hall within the compound of the hostel. The area is already congested, the Mudhiraj Community Hall is adjacent to the nursing college and this falls opposite the Gandhinagar police station, there is no demand for this community hall,” added Shantha Rao, a resident of Gandhinagar.
It is also being alleged that the compound wall of the nursing college is joined to the wall of a local TRS leader’s house. And the idea behind constructing the hall is to facilitate the usage of the space of the community hall. It is being alleged that the state minister is making an attempt to hand over such halls to local party functionary.
When contacted, officials at the minister’s department said, “The project is still in the planning state, the idea will be kept open for advice and suggestion, there is no immediate work being done on the hall.”
