The police has arrested three members of a gang from Hisar who were involved in several crimes and were planning to murder two former sarpanches. Two pistols, cartridges and an Innova vehicle that was snatched by them from Hisar were recovered from them.
SP Sangeeta Kalia said the accused were Kamal Singh and Gaurav from Satrod village and Shubham from Khari village of Hisar.
“The accused were nabbed at a naka near Laloda railway crossing last evening when one of them fired at ASI Baljit Singh. Other personnel overpowered the trio but another accused –Sandeep, a resident of Dhand Barod - managed to flee,” she said.
The accused have admitted to eight crimes, including snatching of the Innova and a Swift car, robbing liquor vends and chain snatching, all in Hisar. Kamal had murdered his wife some years back and was serving a 20 –year jail term. He was out on bail, she added.
