Metro services on the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar route were partially suspended due to breakdown in Over head Equipment (OHE) at Andheri on Wednesday evening

MUMBAI: Metro services between Airport road and Versova were suspended for close to an hour due to overhead equipment (OHE) failure at Andheri on Wednesday evening.
Normal services resumed on the entire stretch at around 6 pm. The failure had occurred at 5 pm .
Mumbai Metro tweeted that services had resumed on the entire stretch.
MMOPL spokesperson said: "An overhead wire failure near Andheri led to suspension of services between Versova and Airport Station.
During the period of failure, trains were running between Airport Road and Gharkopar Station."
Due to to disruption, several Metro stations had become overcrowded.
Many commuters were forced to travel by road transport on the route. Jai Sawant, a regular Metro commuter said, "Buses were overcrowded and it was difficult to get an autorickshaw because most were occupied."
