Why we love Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has the right balance of 'masala' needed to be a commercial success in Bollywood and the fine nuances to make a good cinema. The movie was stylish and the characters had depth. The story of three best friends taking a break from their work to road trip in Spain to celebrate it as a bachelor party for the friend who is getting married, is well shot and has foot tapping songs. Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol played these three musketeers.
The movie released on 15 July, 2011. It's been four years now but the movie, the characters and certain moments are fresh in our minds. Here's why we love the movie
1) Farhan Akhtar as Imraan Habib
Farhan lived as Imraan and we adored him. With incredible comic timing, intensity, grace and soulful poetry, Imraan made it straight to our hearts.
2) Chemistry between the three friends
They fought with each other, played pranks on others, had their emotional moments, confided in each other, had immense faith in each other and the sport they chose, went on a road trip, stayed awake all night and had hell lot of fun. Hrithik, Farhan and Kabir were perfect as the characters. Full marks to the casting director.
3) The adventure sports scenes
Zoya gave each sport, be it underwater diving, sky diving or the San Fermin festival, enough screen time as it not only showed the love these three friends had for adventure, but also justified how they conquered their fear and learnt to live in the present.
4) The poetry
Imraan was a copy writer as well as a closet poet. Four poems that Imraan writes (originally written by Javed Akhtar) are masterpieces. The scenes with the poems in the background will always be remembered for its depth and cinematography. All four poems surface at instances where the characters learn something about themselves and about life.
5) Because happy endings
Shahrukh Khan said "movie is not over until things end well". After all the misunderstandings, fights and tears, we see Arjun and Laila getting married in the presence of all their friends. Now they've learnt much about themselves, about love and about living in the present. What a perfect ending!
