Dr K Narayana Naik said that the department has issued notices to 49 house owners, 42 institutions, three estate owners and six land owners of migrant camps for keeping the surroundings unhygienic and filthy.
The
DMO informed that legal steps will be taken against those who have failed to keep their surroundings clean despite receiving notices.
The move has been taken as part of the preventive measures taken to combat the communicable diseases outbreak in the district. The department had covered a total of 9420 houses, 519 institutions, 100 migrant labour camps and 61 estates in the district as part of the intensive drive. Simultaneous inspections were carried out by 289 teams of health officials lead by 92 supervisors.
