SSA: Rs1,120 crore okayed by committee

Chandigarh, July 14

The executive committee of the Sarv Sikskha Abhiyan (SSA) today approved an outlay of Rs 1,120 crore for the year 2015-16 .

A decision to this effect was taken at the 40th meeting of the executive committee of the SSA chaired by Chief Secretary DS Dhesi here today. The approved outlay included fresh approvals of Rs 788 crore and spillover and committed liabilities of Rs 332 crore

The total approved budget would mainly include Rs 36.83 crore for disbursing free textbooks, Rs 57.68 crore for uniforms, Rs 194.82 crore for developing school infrastructure, Rs 27.65 crore for management costs and Rs 11.82 crore for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas. — TNS
