18 youths to scale Mount Stok Kangri

JAMMU: Eighteen youngsters, including eight girls, from border areas of Sagra and Balnoi in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district will scale Mount Stok Kangri at a height of 6,121 m in the cold desert of the Ladakh region.

Jammu, July 14

Eighteen youngsters, including eight girls, from border areas of Sagra and Balnoi in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district will scale Mount Stok Kangri at a height of 6,121 m in the cold desert of the Ladakh region.

“The mountaineering expedition was flagged off by the Ace of Spades Division from Rajouri today,” said a Defence spokesperson.

The mountaineers were presented an ice axe with the Indian, Army and expedition flags to be placed on the summit by Major General DA Chaturvedi, GOC, Ace of Spades Division.

The General exhorted the youth to empower themselves to conquer new horizons in life.
