MUMBAI: As many as 14 people have tested positive for
H1N1 over the last couple of days, taking the count of infected cases in July to 41.
Doctors have cautioned that pregnant women and people with weak immunity need to remain alert. After a brief lull, experts say the variation in temperature has brought the virus back into circulation. It has recently claimed the life of a 34-year-old Kalachowki resident and even affected his family members.
Currently, nine patients are undergoing treatment at civic-run Kasturba Hospital while over 40 visited its outpatient department on Wednesday with symptoms of fever and cold.
“With this kind of seasonal variation, we may continue to see cases of H1N1 for sometime now. Most patients are stable and doing well with medicines,” said infectious disease consultant Dr Om Srivastava.
