Writing instrument brand, Cross and Torero, its exclusive global licensee, received the Red Dot Design Award for the Cross Grabado Tech+ leather wallet at a ceremony, which took place on 29 June in Essen, Germany.

The Cross Grabado Tech+ wallet will be displayed at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Singapore and Taipei, Taiwan. The Red Dot Design competition includes several categories including technology, applications, automobiles, fashion and accessories. Past prize winners include Siemens, Apple, BMW, the Bose Design Centre, Porsche and Lenovo.

The Red Dot Design team says the Grabado Tech+ wallet’s design has “a particularly well executed aspect of design work”.

“The Grabado Tech+ wallet is an anti-theft and loss proof accessory, which is encoded with a Bluetooth tracker and seamlessly syncs with your phone,” says Cross. “One can track their wallet via a downloadable Cross app available on Android and iOS, if stolen or lost.”

Yashovardhan Gupta, Director & CEO of Torero Corporation, Cross’ global licensee comments: “The global demand for accessories has been growing year on year, at 16% globally and we are keen to invest in brands, design and technology in a bid to dominate the leather accessories category.

“Cross is a fantastic brand, with phenomenal brand recall and Torero is fortunate to be in partnership with an iconic brand, loved by consumers for 170 years. Torero is keen to continue pushing the boundaries of design, to ensure that we consistently exceed consumer expectations, and look forward to winning many more awards along the way.”

Cross leather accessorises are sold in 40 countries and in key travel retail channels. The Torero collection has been designed in Spain and is made from ‘100% top grain Spanish calf leather’.
