Chain snatchers and bag-snatchers are back in action and seem to be having no fear of the law. Two daring incidents of chain snatching occurred in the last 24 hours. The two incidents of chain snatching which occurred on July 13, 2015, the goons snatched gold ornaments and cash jointly worth Rs 1, 25,500/-(Rupees One lakh twenty five thousand and five hundred) from the two women.
According to police sources, the victim Sheela Diwakar Murkute aged 52 years and a resident of Mahajan Wadi, Parvati Park, Hingna Road was returning home, riding pillion seat behind her son on her son’s motorcycle bearing RTO Registration No MH-3/ BF-6074.
When the mother-son duo reached the spot near Vishal Fabrication unit on Hingna Road, two chain-snatchers came from behind the duo riding a Bajaj Pulsar Motorcycle and slapped Sheela and snatched the gold ornament (Mangalsutra) and fled the spot. The Mangalsutra is said to be costing Rs. 1, 00,000/- (rupees one lakh).
On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim Sheela, the MIDC Police registered a case against the unidentified chain snatchers. MIDC police is investigating further.
In the second incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Rena Prate Nagar Police Station. The victim Nailing Deepak Paxar aged 57 years and a resident of Somali Apartments, Catwalk Nagar lodged a complaint with the Rena Prate Nagar Police Station that she had gone for shopping along with her daughter-in-law Isa Ancash Paxar at around 9:45 pm. After finishing their shopping the duo (i.e. Mother-in-law and Daughter-in-law) were returning on the Honda Activa scooterette bearing RTO registration No MH-31/ DX-7573.
When they neared cement road, Purushottam Super Bazar, Pratap Nagar, two unidentified men riding a Bajaj Pulsar Motorcycle snatched the Purse from Nalini who were seated on the pillion seat and escaped the spot. The purse contained two mobile phone, cash worth Rupees 20,000/- and other goods worth Rs 25,000/-. Immediately after snatching her purse, the goons fled from the spot.
Immediately after her bag was snatched by the goons, victim Nalini and her daughter-in-law Isha Ankush Pawar rushed to Pratap Nagar Police Station and lodged a complaint with them.
On the basis of the complaint lodged the victim, the police officials of Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station registered a case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code against the accused and are investigating further.
