Supersport United CEO Stan Matthews says nine players are likely to leave the club ahead of the new season to get game time elsewhere. He also confirmed that one-year contract extensions have been given to goalkeeper Ronwen Williams and captain Clayton Daniels.Bennett Chenene, Thabiso Nkoana, Prince Nxumalo, Thamsanqa Teyise, George Chigova and Michael Morton were some of the players on their way out of the club. The latter has attracted interest from Platinum Stars.Nkoana scored five league goals while on loan to Ajax Cape Town and Matthews said three clubs are fighting for the striker's signature."There's been interest for Thabiso. He has expressed his desire to move and we are going to grant him that," Matthews said.Matthews said United made bids to sign Robert Ng'ambi from Platinum and Bidvest Wits' right back Siyabonga Nhlapo, but they were told they were not for sale. They also lost out in the race to sign former Free State Stars defender Daniel Cardoso, who joined Kaizer Chiefs.Matthews explained why the club let winger Daine Klate join Wits."I regret it because I wanted Klate . unfortunately his [wage] demands were very high. I was the one who called him to say he should take the contract from Witsbecause we could not afford that."I think [Australian Isaka Cernak] will shine in that position. In Cernak we have an exciting player. It was better to get a 26-year-old international than to break the bank for Daine in his 30s."Matthews confirmed that youngster Andile Fikizolo, who was on loan to Golden Arrows, was in coach Gordon Igesund's plans. Defender Thabo September has revealed he will hang up his boots at the end of the 2015-2016 season at age 33.September arrived at United as a highly rated 23-year-old centre back in 2006 and went on to captain the team, but his career has been plagued by injuries in recent years."I feel my knee is a problem. Four operations on one knee is not good. This will be my last season. Supersport have offered me a job and I will decide which area suits me best . hopefully by December," said the former Bush Bucks defender.September, who turns 33 in November, will retire without a Bafana Bafana cap. The three-time league winner is well prepared for life after football. He has a business with his good friends Lennox Bacela and Lonwabo Tsotsobe, the Proteas fast bowler."We buy petrol garages and we transport diesel and petrol to mines. I also have a photography business, a music business and I have another company called Basecamp Productions," he said.September has a national diploma in sports management...
