William Youmans to Star in Richard Gustin's New Play BEING SEEN at FringeNYC This August

BEING SEEN, a new play written by Richard Gustin, starring Broadway's William Youmans, will make its world premiere at The New York International Fringe Festival/Fringe NYC. BEING SEEN will be performed at Venue #12/The Underground (64 East 4th Street). Directed by Mindy Cooper and featuring Allison Minick, this dark comedy revolves around a young actress and her experience in working with a brilliant and cryptic director. BEING SEEN will play five performances -- August 17th at 9PM, August 18th at 5PM, August 19th at 7PM, August 21st at 2:45 PM and August 22nd at 7PM . BEING SEEN is a dark comedy about an actress who is given the opportunity to work with a highly acclaimed director. Wits and instincts collide as she hopes to be seen and understood by the person she's only dreamed of working with.

Costumes are designed by Tristan Raines. Marc Eardley is the stage manager.

WILLIAM YOUMANS is a long-time performer in the New York theatre scene. He appeared in the original Broadway casts of Wicked, Pirate Queen, Farnsworth Invention, The Little Foxes, Titanic, Big River, Baz Luhrmann's La Boheme, Hands On A Hardbody , Finian's Rainbow (2009 revival), and Billy Elliott. Off-Broadway he has performed in Giant, Flux and Henry V at the Public; Orphan of the Zhao at Lincoln Center, Tony Kushner's Brundibar/Giraffe at New Victory, Horton Foote's Widow Claire at Circle in the Square, Miracle Brothers at the Vineyard, 12345 at Manhattan Theatre Club, Coraline at Manhattan Class Company, Julie Taymor's Midsummer Night's Dream, at Theatre for a New Audience and Paint Your Wagon for Encores! On film, he can be seen in Birdman, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Mrs. Soffel, Compromising Positions, Nadine, and Fresh Horses.

ALLISON MINICK's NYC theatre credits include: Lady Macbeth in Macbeth (Classic Stage Company Young Company), Iphigenia in Iphigenia at Aulis (Miller Theatre) and Lucille in Brief Hours & Weeks (Gene Frankel Theatre). She also appeared as Cleopatra in The Fall of Antony (RADA, London) and Nina in 20 Ninas (an adaptation of the Seagull) (Center REP) and on film in Anonymous (Green Brother Films), Ashes and The Audition.

MINDY COOPER has directed (Soul Doctor, Music In The Night- A Tribute To Jerome Kern, Broadway By The Year 1937 and 1972) choreographed (Dracula, The Musical, 50 Shades, The Musical Parody, Wrong Mountain, Titanic, Five Course Love) and performed (Chicago, Titanic, Beauty And The Beast, Song & Dance, Tenderloin), on Broadway, Off-Broadway and television. She has directed new works American Monkey, The Thing About Time (Capitol Rep), The Gospel, According to Tammy Faye, Mars/ Venus Live (National Tour), Still Will Be Heard (commissioned by Peak Performances) and Deployed (NYMF). Her extensive regional work as a Director has won 10 Bay Area Theater Critics Awards.

RICHARD GUSTIN, a playwright and actor, has written Surviving The Cycle, A Sparrow Falls, Leviathan and Crucifiction. He has performed in The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, The Dark Lady of the Sonnets and Blanco! at The Great Lakes Theatre Festival. Translations, What Every Woman Knows, The Three Sisters, Anthony and Cleopatra, The Royal Family, Loose Ends, Picnic and Macbeth at Kansas City Repertory Theater.
