Boy ‘attempts stunt’ on moving train, sustains injuries

Abdul is a resident of Mumbra and was on his way to work at Govandi when he met with the accident at Tilak Nagar Police railway station.

The GRP police officials claim the manner in which he fell indicates he was pulling a stunt on a moving train.

Abdul has sustained injuries in his head, legs and hands, and was discharged after medical treatment from Rajawadi Hospital. Abdul is a resident of Mumbra and was on his way to work at Govandi when he met with the accident at Tilak Nagar Police railway station.

“Abdul, who had boarded the train from Kurla, attempted the stunt at Tilak Nagar railway platform. At 1.22 pm when the train was about to leave the Tilak Nagar platform, he got off the train and tried to catch it again and lost his balance and fell,” said said P K Davare, Senior police inspector, Wadala GRP.

Reacting to allegations that he was thrown off the train, after some rumours spread, Davare answered, “If he would have been thrown off from the train, he would have had major injuries.That was not the case.”
