SUV driver crashes into pole, escapes unhurt in Vadodara

Residents of Sarvodaya Society in Gotri spent a night without electricity after a speeding car rammed into an electricity pole here on Saturday.The car crashed into a pavement and damaged two hawking stalls.

VADODARA: Residents of Sarvodaya Society in Gotri spent a night without electricity after a speeding car rammed into an electricity pole here on Saturday.
The car crashed into a pavement and damaged two hawking stalls. An electricity pole fell in the adjacent residential area after the collision and disrupted the power supply in the area. However, no one was injured in accident.
Gotri police said the driver of the car fled from the spot after the accident. He has been identified as Piyush Patel, a resident of Vemali in Vadodara district.
In a similar incident, another speeding car crashed into a snacks shop on Gheekanta Road on Sunday morning. Three persons were injured in the accident. Accused Sharif Ahmed told police that he had pressed the accelerator pedal by mistake instead of brake.
