Parul University to introduce Google classroom

VADODARA: City-based Parul University (PU) will become the first education institute in Gujarat to introduce Google classroom on its campus.
Google classroom project will enable faculty members to upload all learning materials online for students, have online assignments which can be completed and submitted online by students.
"We will be using information and communication tools that will be integrated into regular classes with the introduction of Google classroom. External experts will be invited to contribute on the same platform," Ketan Kotecha, who recently joined PU as provost, said while addressing media persons here on Sunday.
"This will ensure that teaching and learning process goes beyond classrooms with a 24x7 access," he said, adding that the university is also introducing 'blended learning' in classrooms by using massive online open courses (MOOCs).
"MOOCs offered by top global universities such as Harvard University and Stanford University among others bring students closer to the global standards of knowledge in respective subjects," he said.
Among other plans, the university is also setting up a thinkers lab where students will be able to undergo the process of ideation, nurturing of ideas to the level of incubation and startups.
