India will be hosting the major event for the first time and it was decided in the Special General Body Meeting of the All India Carrom Federation (AICF) held at the city hotel on Sunday.

NAGPUR: International Carrom Federation (ICF) Cup Carrom tournament will be held at New Delhi from October 7 to 11. India will be hosting the major event for the first time and it was decided in the Special General Body Meeting of the All India Carrom Federation (AICF) held at the city hotel on Sunday.
Around 17 countries including India, Sri Lanka, USA, France, Germany, Switzerland, Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Canada, Korea, UK, Malaysia, Poland, Italy and Japan are expected to take part in the most prestigious tourney, which is held once in four years.

Addressing a press conference AICF president Rakibul Hussain also announced the future events of the federation. He said the Federation Cup Carrom tournament will be held at Raigarh (Chhattisgarh) from July 23-27.
Inter-Institutional Nationals will be held at Mumbai from August 9 to 11, while Raipur will host the Sub Jr Nationals from September 27-30. Junior Nationals will be played at Varodara in November, while Pune will host the senior nationals in December.
Hussain also informed that AICF AGM will be held on September 13 at Guwahati, Assam in which all the former National champions (since 1956) and all the former AICF office bearers will be felicitated.
