The arrested person has been identified as Javed Rashid, a resident of Delhi.
The Nagpada police on Sunday arrested a 25-year-old youth who allegedly threatened his former girlfriend to defame her on the social media if she failed to keep physical relationship with him.

According to the police, the 23-year old woman, a second year student, in her complaint stated that she came in contact with Rashid through Facebook in 2013. Rashid also later arrived in the city to meet her.
"Same year, Rashid, under the pretext of meeting a relative in Manori took the woman to a lodge and took their intimate photographs and left for Delhi. In 2014, Rashid proposed her to marry him, but since they both were from different communities, the girl's parents rejected Rashid's proposal. Rashid later took up a job in a company in a suburb and started residing in Kamathipura," said an officer from Nagpada police station.
"Later, the woman too told Rashid that she would want him to be her friend. The two then continued to be in touch with each other and recently she told Rashid that her parents were looking for a groom for her after which Rashid got upset and started threatening her," said the officer.
Rashid then told the complainant to have physical relationship with him and threatened that if she did not comply to his demands, he would release their intimate photographs on Facebook. The woman then narrated her ordeal to her parents who insisted that she lodge a complaint with police.
"Following her complaint, we arrested Rashid on charges of threatening, outraging modesty of woman and under relevant sections of Information Technology Act," said the officer.
