Jawa and
Yezdi lovers got to gether at the National College Grounds in Basavanagudi on Sunday to celebrate the vintage bike which is currently out of produc rently out of production. International Jawa CZ Yezdi Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of July. They rode their bikes, one of them a 1947 model, some others dating back to 1950, for about a km.
In India, Jawas and Yezdis are perceived to be Mysuru bikes, notwithstanding their Czech origins. For, the bikes were rolled out of the pro rolled out of the production lines in Ideal Jawa factory in Mysuru. While Jawa was the earlier model, it was renamed Yezdi later.
It underwent another makeover and was called Roadkings before losing out to Japanese bikes that en tered Indian market in 1980s
