Carnival celebrates city talent with song & dance

Soaked in festive fervor, Lucknowites hit the streets to participate in Ganjing Carnival on Sunday. Carnival’s main event, ‘Talents of Lucknow–Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin’ left viewers spellbound. Sisters Priyanshi and Pratiksha Srivastava of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs fame enthralled the audience rendering songs like ‘Baras jaa re badal baras jaa’, ‘Tu hai ki nahi’, ‘Teri galiyan’ and ‘Kabhi jo badal barse’.

LUCKNOW: Soaked in festive fervor, Lucknowites hit the streets to participate in Ganjing Carnival on Sunday. Carnival’s main event, ‘Talents of Lucknow–Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin’ left viewers spellbound. Sisters Priyanshi and Pratiksha Srivastava of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs fame enthralled the audience rendering songs like ‘Baras jaa re badal baras jaa’, ‘Tu hai ki nahi’, ‘Teri galiyan’ and ‘Kabhi jo badal barse’.
Eight-year-old Srishti Arora, a participant of DID Little Master delivered a classical dance performance. Tanmay Chaturvedi of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs fame too rocked the stage singing ‘Har kisi ko nahi milta’, and ‘Dekha jo tujhe yaar’.
Dressed in colorful attires, people enjoyed to the fullest songs by Harshit Saxena who stepped onto the stage amidst loud cheers and whistles. He kicked off his performance with the high energy ‘Haal-e-dil’ and went on to sing UP’s ‘Khaike paan Banaras wala’. He wrapped up his performance singing ‘Ilahi mera jee aaye.’
Most of the crowd had a great time watching the musical show by artistes and dance performance presented by little children, while others tried their hand at games and fun activities like, hool-a-hoop and balloon shooting.
“This is a commendable initiative of the city administration. It’s great to see such energy and is even lovelier to see performing artistes gain love and support of the swinging crowd,” said 19-year-old Udita Pandey.
The celebration of freedom and togetherness made many gather scores of selfies and memories. There were giant screens on which visitors could see the stage performances from anywhere. The crowd comprising people from all age group went ecstatic with multiple activities and performances. Renu Chaddha, 52, said, “Carnival is great and even better for the elderly. It doesn’t just refresh us but also gives us a chance to see a wholly new face of Hazratganj.”
