July 12, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - COIMBATORE:

DMK councillor of Ward 49 Meena Loganathan petitioned City Police Commissioner A.K. Viswanathan on Saturday alleging that she was harassed by Inspector of the Rathinapuri Police Station on Friday. She said that on Friday she went to see a few persons belonging to her ward after they were detained for road blocking near government hospital.

She alleged that the Inspector allegedly pulled her by her hand, forced her get into the police jeep and took her to Race Course Police Station only to be allowed to leave in a few minutes. She said that the incident took place in the presence of public and party cadre. A senior police officer said that the allegations would be looked into and appropriate actions would be initiated against the police officer, if he was found guilty.
