In a tragic incident, a 65-year-old woman was killed by a crocodile near Khambhala dam in Porbnadar district on Friday morning.

RAJKOT: In a tragic incident, a 65-year-old woman was killed by a crocodile near Khambhala dam in Porbnadar district on Friday morning.
According to forest officials, the deceased was identified as Kadviben Hirabhai, a farm labourer.
The incident occurred around 10 am on Friday when woman went to the check dam near Khambhala dam, some 40 km away from Porbandar.
The crocodile in the dam dragged Kadviben into water and killed her.
"As soon as we learnt about the incident we rushed to the spot. Kadviben's body was fished out and sent for postmortem," P M Odedara, range forest officer, Ranavav Forest Range, Porbandar, told TOI.
He said that there are many crocodiles in check dams and water bodies around Khambhala dam and people are aware of it.
