RM5,000 for Labuan media body

Labuan: Member of Parliament Datuk Rozman Isli gave a boost to the Labuan Media Association with a RM5,000 cheque for its activities during a breaking of fast with reporters organised by the Labuan Corporation."Reporters play an important role in building trust and confidence of the people in the government and institution," said Rozman after presenting the cheque to Chairman Jainuddin Djimin.

Rozman, who is also the Chairman of Labuan Corporation, said the body is undergoing a rebranding exercise to serve the people more efficiently.

"LC will be a more dynamic organisatiion to meet public expectations.

All the departments under its umbrella will be fine-tuned and to eliminate the existing shortcomings so as to achieve the liveability of the island," he said, adding that the staff must be people and business friendly.

He said the days of sitting on files are over in the current scenario as time is money to investors.

Thanking the MP on behalf of the reporters, Djainuddin said the funds would be put to good use to enhance the media fraternity.

Also present at the function were Deputy CEOs of LC Riduan Ismail (management) and Zambri Mohd Esa. Others were head of corporate affairs Jahmuniwaty Markam and directors of other departments.
