Science projects showcased

A science exhibition showcasing 257 projects of schoolchildren was inaugurated at Louis Level Matriculation Higher Secondary School here by K. Jayakannu, Chief Educational Officer, on Friday.

Children from 250 schools in Ramanathapuram district participated in the exhibition, which was organised under the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (Inspire) programme, sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology.

S. Jayakumar, District Educational Officer (in charge), addressed the participants.

Sr. Regina Mary, Principal, Louis Level Matriculation Higher Secondary School, welcomed the gathering and K. Kumar, convener, proposed a vote of thanks.

The following students were chosen to participate in the State-level expo: R. Bala Pragha, Government Higher Secondary School, Pottagavayal (first); S. Shyam Sundar, Khyrathul Jamalia Higher Secondary School, Paramakudi, and Kavya, Government High School, Vattanam (second); Arul Prakash, Government High School, Kalaiyur; Kousalya, Government High School, Perungulam, and M. Afrina Parveen, Government Higher Secondary School, Uchipuli (third).
