Malad gets a new International School for the EYP section! A flagship institution from Nav Chetana Trust, J. Kumar International School (EYP) was inaugurated by Nitin Gadkariji, Union minister of Road Transport and Highways and Shipping. Other dignitaries like Mr. Gopal Shetty, Mrs. Vidya Thakur, Mr. Subhash Desai, Mrs. Sneha Zagde along with Dr. Shyam Agarwal, President of Nav Chetana Trust and Mr. Jagdish Gupta, MD. J Kumar Infra Projects were present.

The institution has been constructed to impart world-class education, Indian values and latest pedagogy. The entire campus is spread over 8,500 sq.ft. and can cater to more than 1000 students for Nursery and Junior KG grade. It extensively uses the modern educational concept of Open Classroom methodology.

Over 500 parents and grandparents graced the occasion making this opening a grand success.

Pawar Public School, Bhandup, organised Van Mahotsav celebrations on July 01. The students and the teachers were all dressed in green. Posters depicting slogans, which embodied the need to plant more trees as well as saving them, adorned the school corridors.

The celebrations kick started with a welcome by students dressed as trees by the entrance. The festivities shifted to the auditorium the programme commenced with the solemn prayer song which was followed by song, dance and skit by students of Grade 1. It was followed by a Hindi skit ‘Bhavishya ki Time Machine’ presented by the students of Grade 9.

Then came the Principal’s address in which an appeal was made to the students to make meaningful changes through small actions. The audience included tudents of Grades 4 and 5 and members of the Parent Teacher Association.

The highlight of the Van Mahotsav extravaganza was the palki (palanquin) which had a Tulsi plant carried around by four students who were accompanied by their friends, teachers and the school gardeners.

On the occasion of Van Mahotsav, the school has embarked on the ‘Each Class One Plant’ project in which every class has to take care of a plant. The students of each and every class will not only bring a plant but also nurture it.

Podar International school (CIE), Kalyan, celebrated the Investiture Ceremony and Parent Orientation Program on July 04 wherein the newly elected the newly elected student leaders took charge of their offices. The programme began with a tree plantation ceremony by the guests.

Chief Guest was Mrs. Ruchira Ghosh, Regional Director CIE, South Asia and the Guest of honour was Dr. Mrs. Vandana Lulla , Director of Podar International Schools (CIE). The host was Mr. Sanjay Nandi, Principal, Podar CIE, Kalyan.

Achievers in various exams, sports events and extracurricular activities were felicitated. It was followed by some cultural programmes performed by students. Then the Investiture Ceremony began with a march past by the students, followed by the distribution of badges and sachets to House captains, vice-captains, various activity and sports in-charge and monitors. The ceremony ended with an oath by Mr. Chandan Kumar Soni and the student council.

Atomic Energy Central School 3 conducted a Science, Social Science and Mathematics Exhibition and Flower and Toy Show last month. All students from Pre-Prep to Std XI participated in the event by making projects on different topics.

Chief Guest of the function Mr. A.K.Singh, Site Director and Chairman, A.E.C. Schools, Tarapur, inaugurated the exhibition, while Guest of Honour Mrs. Madhuri Singh inaugurated the Flower and Toy Show which was a unique presentation by the students of Pre-Prep to Std II. A team consisting of distinguished scientist, doctors and teachers from NPCIL, BARC and other educational institutions judged the projects. T. Kalathinathan, Principal, R. K. Jangid Vice-Principal and Ashwini Nagrale, Headmistres, were a core part of the event.

On the occasion 67 girls and 40 boys belonging to tribal community from Jyoti Niwas and Shanti Sewa Ashram from Nandgaon, Manore, were also invited to witness the exhibition.
