JUDITH FINEBERG HERTZBERG
Judith Fineberg Hertzberg, beloved by all, died peacefully in New Orleans on Sunday, May 17, 2015. Born in Jersey City, N.J., on May 26, 1928, Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Fanny Fineberg; sister, Lillian Metz; and brother, Sidney Fineberg; survived by her sister, Eleanor Pashelinsky. She is the loving mother of Robert and Jill Hertzberg; Joan Wightkin and Amy Heaton; devoted grandmother of Jerri and Larry Bassuk, Danny Hertzberg, Hillary Hertzberg, Ben Wightkin, Jessie Wightkin, Allison and Evan Lestelle, David and Donna Heaton, and Jana Heaton; great-grandmother of George Bassuk, Kylie Wightkin and Sienna Lestelle.
Judy was warm, kind, generous, and opened her home to family and friends, making everyone feel welcome. She loved the term “good neshama” and nurtured her children and grandchildren with that in mind.
Funeral services were held in New Jersey, where Judy spent most of her life. Judy made life a little sweeter, and we are blessed to have had her in our lives. Memorial contributions may be made to Hadassah or a charity of your choice.
