Matt Harvey gets snippy after fans rip private plane photo

Matt Harvey doesn’t like it when you criticize his private jet photos.

The temperamental, high-flying Mets fireballer posted a photo early Thursday from the team’s return flight from the West Coast that included a deeply sarcastic caption, after he had taken flak for a previous Instagram of a glitzy private jaunt.

“Just landed back in NYC on ‘THE TEAM FLIGHT’ ‘WITH THE TEAM,’ Harvey wrote from the back of the Mets plane after a 4-2 road trip against the Dodgers and Giants.

Just landed back in NYC on "THE TEAM FLIGHT" "WITH THE TEAM" 😉

The snarky scare quotes derived from the comments section of a photo Harvey had shared hours earlier, presumably taken on a previous day in the midst of the Mets’ stay in California, showing the 26-year-old dressed up for a private flight on the Wheels Up service (“More than private aviation. Much more than a flight. From the innovators who created the private jet card, it’s the latest in exceptional travel.”).

That caption said Harvey was en route to the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, where rooms in the five-star hotel go for four figures per night.

Thanks @wheelsup8760 for the lift to #bigsur #postranchinn while we made our west coast trip.

A hand-picked sample of the negative feedback, mixed in with helpful advice to ignore the haters:

“After your pitching performances, it’s fitting you take a plane by yourself. Degrom is better”

“what a douche riding in his own plane”

“You’re an a—–e and everyone knows you’ll be a Yankee soon.”
