The complainant against Minister for Textiles and Ports Baburao Chinchanasur, Anjana, on Wednesday approached city Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi seeking protection.

Ms. Anjana told Mr. Reddi that after she filed the complaint against the Minister recently, she had received death threats. In her letter to the Commissioner, she has mentioned a number from which she allegedly received the threat calls.

Mr. Reddi directed Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Labhu Ram to investigate the matter and take steps for the safety and security of the complainant.

Ms. Anjana recently lodged a private complaint with the 11th ACMM court alleging that the Minister had cheated her of Rs. 11.88 crore, which he had borrowed from her and not returned. The Vidhana Soudha police have registered an FIR.
